SPN Communications became the first agency in the history of IABC Gold Quill Awards to scoop trophies in seven categories. Besides, the company got into TOP 3 Large Agencies of the Year (51 or more employees), according to Gold Quill. The Gold Quill Awards gala took place on the 15th of June in San Francisco within the World Conference hosted by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
The “Agency of the Year” special categories, introduced in 2015, highlight the highest-scored entries in the program. The finalists are chosen based on the number of winning submissions from a particular entrant company.
SPN Communications owes this dazzling victory to two campaigns, The Communication Lab
implemented together with RVC and “One Country, One Team
” for the Public Contribution Council of the Russian Olympic Committee, which ran within the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
“The Gold Quill 2015 winners list has demonstrated that Russian practitioners are becoming if not new leaders, then at least significant players in the global communications industry. For us, this win is both a professional triumph and a powerful impulse to further development”, says Andrey Barannikov, CEO of SPN Communications.
The All-Russian campaign “One Country, One Team” won in the category “Government Communication Programs”. “Not only did this campaign demonstrate an innovative approach to communications with supporters within international sporting events, but it also allowed uniting the Russian citizens around the national team”, says Oleg Roumiantsev, Director of the Program Department at the Public Contribution Council of the Russian Olympic Committee.
The Communication Lab, the most awarded entry in the history of the contest, won six Gold Quill trophies in one go (including the special Jake Wittmer Award for the most outstanding approach to research), and was named by the judges one of the best campaigns ever submitted for the program.
Ilya Kurmyshev, Director of Innovation Development Programmes Department at RVC, is certain that the project will successfully develop further. “The Communication Lab gained an international recognition, which means the number of its partners and friends is growing at an exponential rate! I think the last year’s awards were the great beginning, but there are much more important and interesting things ahead!”
The IABC Gold Quill Awards have been given by the International Association of Business Communicators for more than 40 years and are considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious award programs for excellence in strategic communications.
